About this course

Permanent make-up is a cosmetic technique where using permanent make-up device the special pigment is inserted into the upper layer of dermis. We can create the desired color, fullness and shape of the eyebrows or lips, also we can enhance the eyelash line. Moreover we can create long lasting eyeshadows. Permanent makeup can be done in different styles. Fox example our academy suggests different style eyebrows – strokes, shadow (Ombre), strokes and shadow various combinations; lips- only liner or full lips; eye enhancement – eyeliner or eyeshadow, smoky Ombre eyeliner , black or colorful. All these effects last up to 3 years (touch up is necessary after 1.5-2 years) after which the pigment fades leaving the skin. Results can imitate topically applied cosmetics or can be quite unnoticeable, depending upon the design, color value and amount of pigment used. At first, permanent makeup results may look 30-40% darker. This is due to color remaining in the outermost epidermal layers of skin at the start. Color softens within 10 days during the healing process as the small scabs are falling out. Full healing is 30 days and then we recommend to come for touchup to finalize the desired result. While permanent makeup pigment remains in the dermis its healing may be influenced by several possible factors. These can be environmental, procedural and/ or individual factors. Sun and face treatments (mesotherapy, biorevitalization, fruit acids, chemical peelings etc) fades the color. Also the aftercare is about 50% of final result.

This course consists of three techniques:

Ombre eyebrows. This is permanent powdered brows technique for clients who prefer fuller result than hairstrokes but still very soft. It’s a technique which looks like daily makeup done with eyebrow pencil or eyebrow shadow. The tails of the brow are darker and fade into a light beginning to the brow, giving a perfect Ombre makeup affect. The effects will be waterproof, smudge-proof and completely natural.
Top eyeliner. It is the easiest way to enhance the beauty of the eyes and create eyes lifting effect. The client will not have any difficulty applying eye liner because of poor sight or shaking hands. Moreover , this permanent makeup is much better as it doesn’t smudge throughout the day.
Lips. You will learn how to do liner, liner with some shading or full lips. Lips permanent makeup treatment is really naturally looking and can create fuller lips better than fillers. Moreover with permanent makeup you will be able to define the shape of lips, correct asymmetry and add desired color.

FAQ

Do I need to buy a device for this technique?

- Some trainings includes a device also. Check on exact course. If no, you will need to bring a device. Our instructors can help you and advise which one is the best in quality and price if the device is not included in the trainings.

Does the training include kit?

-Depending on course price it can be included Beginner or Professional kit. For certain information, check on exact course in REGISTER.

Is it painful?

- Yes the client can feel discomfort but we numb. Everything depends on the deepness the technician works, pain tolerance, numbing strength. There are two types of numbing – primary and secondary. We always recommend not to use primary anesthesia for eyebrows as the retention of color is better and the skin is not so tough, slippery so it is much easier to do the first pass of treatment without numbing. The first pass duration is about 4-5 minutes, after that we always use secondary anesthesia. So the clients can decided if he/she can handle the pain during the first pass (usually the scale of pain is 5-6). If yes, then we use only secondary numbing. If not, then we use both and client almost doesn’t feel anything. We always fully numb eyes and lips as it is more sensitive.

What tools and products are used for treatment?

- Disposable needles, permanent makeup device, certified permanent makeup pigments, soothing solution, sterile cotton pads, sterile disposable pigments ring, special pencils for permanent makeup, sterile marker, sterile water and some other equipment to make sure the treatment is done hygienically, rulers for measuring.

What is the duration of the treatment?

- Lips permanent makeup is usually about 2.5h; eyebrows – 1.5-2h; eyeliner – 2 hours.

What are the treatment steps?

- First pass of treatment

- Numbing

- Several passes of treatment. Between passes it is possible to be numbed again if necessary;

Who can learn?

We can train all the people who have the desire to learn a new craft. You don’t need to be beautician or something very close to this profession. For example, our founder Rita Romo finished architecture studies and later she decided to learn permanent makeup. All you need – motivation and practice. The training program includes full permanent make-up basics (color theory, skin tones, anatomy & physiology, skin problems, contraindications, etc) so after training you will be able to start doing the treatments. No matter you finished permanent makeup with device you will have to practice as much as you can. We advise to practice not on people skin at first but on paper and latex. If you are good on latex, you will be better also on real skin.

After course you will get certificate of attendance but we expect publishing your works in our facebook group. You will be added there after the course. There our team will give you some advises and tell the mistakes you did. You will be able to ask question because the theory can’t include all different situations. After hard working you will gain skills and people will trust your works. Just need patience and stubbornness. The eyebrows, lips, eyeliner treatments consist of many things as symmetry, art, technique, preparation, evaluation of clients situation (skin type and skin problems), communicating (client’s wishes), legislation. Also you have to understand that 4 days are not enough for all your career – we recommend you to read books, attend conferences of permanent make up ,attend next masterclass courses.

1 Registration

2 Preparation

Finish Blood Borne Pathogen test and register in Health department if you haven’t done this before. Bring both licenses to hands-on course. This will let you to practice on live model (for USA artists).
For Hands-on part you have to bring your model. If you don’t find a model, please contact assigned instructor to help you but Baltic Brows team doesn’t take the responsibility to find you a model. We can try to help you but it is too hard for us to find so many models. If you don’t have a model, you will not be able to practice that course part. Make sure your model is appropriate for treatment:

Old permanent makeup in the are you plan to practice; oily skin (for microblading only); sensitive skin (contains blemishes, big open pores, couperosis, redness on cheeks); Dark skin (Fitzpatrick 5, 6)- not suitable for lips treatment; Retain A within last 2 weeks; Anaemia; Heart / blood problems; Prolonged bleeding; Low/ high blood pressure; Diabetes; Haemophilia; Liver disease; Epilepsy; HIV; Hepatitis; Cancer in the past 6 months; Chemical or laser peel within 6 weeks - AHA preparations in the past 2 weeks; All types injections (1 month before and after treatment); Hypertrophic scars; Keloid scars; moles; birthmarks; Healing problems; Eczema, Psoriasis, severe acne, minor skin conditions in brow area; Serious heart disorders, blood infections; Straight after waxing in that are you plan to practice; Autoimmune disease; Hyper-pigmentation; Using Accutane or other retinoids past 6 months; Sunburn; The area is already damaged or the irritations are visible; Skin conditions in the area of application (local dermatitis, bruising, skin ulcers etc); Infections bacterial, fungal or viral; Chemical or laser peel within 6 weeks; any eyes diseases (only for eyeliner treatment); herpes.

Inform your model to come without contact lenses and eyelash extensions.
Inform your model to start herpes prevention 3 days before hands-on: take 1 tablet of ZOVIRAX (or ACIC) three times a day and use the ointment of lips special for herpes. It is necessary to consult with a doctor.
Inform your model do not tint eyebrows and tweezer or wax them before the treatment.

4 CONTINUEING HOME STUDYING TO OBTAIN ARTIST CERTIFICATION

To obtain Artist certification and Artist logo:

we require: 50 pairs of eyebrows on latex using Golden Ratio ruler and Ombre technique; 20 practices of lips on latex; 20 practices of eyeliner on latex.
we require 9 treatments (each 3 for lips, eyeliner and eyebrows) on models after latex. All of treatments have to be approved by your instructor in order to get Artist certificate.
The certificate will be sent to you address provided in your profile.
Moreover, you will be able to continue on further certification awards – Specialist, Perfectionist, even to become Master or Virtuoso ! Read about this in Certification.
